Unhappy Do I need to worry???

I will try and make this short.....last night I was in process of taking some oil out with a baster(was told to try taking some out to help with air cleaner drip) and I got on phone call. My 2 year old daughter was close by and had an extra part for the baster( maybe 2" long x 1/8" wide rubber tip) in her hand and next thing I know, its missing. I'm not positive, but I think she may have dropped into oil tank. If she did, will this cause any problems for me? Headed on 1,000 mile trip in 2 days and sure dont need this right now!!

It's always something!

Thanks for any help!

While it's floating around on top, take your ( WET) shop vacuum and suck it out.

I didn't realize it was missing until I had used the baster a couple more times...so I'm guessing if it's in there, it's not longer on top?? I called my HD service dept and they said it should be ok....but I have received valuable advice on this forum before....so I thought I would double check.

Drop the oil pan and look to see for sure and possibly retrieve it if it is in fact there. The shop vac may work, but it may not. It would always be in the back of my mind as to whether it was there or not if I didn't get positive results with the vac.

do you have access to a boroscope? we have one here in the shop that we can stick in a hole and look on a screen as to whats in the hole (no dirty thoughts guys!) a lot less invasive and cheaper if you can find a shop thats willing to look in the pan, if its there, more tyhan likely you can use a flexible gripping tool to grab it and pull it out

Yeah, with that being said, thats the highest probability. If she did, it shouldn't harm her. I will just pass through her system like a candy gummy worm. Your gonna have to go through some crap to find it.
