Clutch issues
4th 5th & 6th gear feels like it isn't releasing fully
Tried adjusting clutch still slipping
One of my buddies rode it yesterday he thinks it is on its way out
Any ideas how much $ I am looking @ if it needs to be replaced?
07 FLTR with 35,000 miles
Thanks

With that many miles and depending on how you ride you may need to replace the clutch. There is a clutch adjustment in the primary. Have you tried that yet. I believe the instructions are in the service manual.
I just replaced mine, went with Barnett carbon fiber extra disc kit and Barnett Spring kit parts including gaskey cost me $380 did the labor myself. It's very simple to change took less then 2 hours.
mine is going too,the spring is too week from the factory,it give an easy pull but ...a few hard pulls in higher gears and the slipping begins, then it starts to wear and burn fast.put in a heavier spring and you'll have much longer life from the next clutch.
I agree with this. One time when it was in the high 90's and my wife was on the bike with me (less than 120 lbs) I thought I could feel my clutch slipping. I have since replaced the spring with one meant for the later model 103 engines. Barely feel the extra pull effort yet has more gripping power.
Let it sit overnight and follow my routine that's been tried and true for many:
CLUTCH-PACK ADJUSTMENT PROCEDURE:
1) Loosen cable slack all the way to the top of adjuster (use 11 & 12mm open wrenches).
2) Remove Derby cover with T27 Torx bit on 4" extension, then loosen Clutch-pack nut with 11/16 socket & turn nut out two turns.
3) With 7/32 Allen wrench turn screw out few turns, then turn in slowly until resistance is felt in the lever (gear engagement point) then turn back 1/2 to 3/4 turns (buffer before gear engages). Not giving it a buffer will leave clutch partially engaged putting excess wear on throw-out bearing! Hold it there with 'T' handle and lock it down with an 11/16 open wrench.
Tech notes:
Backing the clutch pack screw further out than ½ turn will move clutch engagement closer to the bars.
4) Take up slack with cable adjuster till the handle starts to move outward and there' s the 1/8" slack on cable pivot end, then lock it down. If your run the adjuster to the point that you run out of thread make sure your ran adjuster all the way to the top when you began procedure.
Tech notes:
More free-play than 1/16-1/8” at the perch, will also make it grab closer to the bars.

Thanks Tucci, I just joined the site because of clutch problems with my wifes 09 Street Glide. We just bought it and the clutch doesn't adjust like the older 5 speeds. We like it to engage near the bar and the newer bikes just don't adjust the same. Hers won't engage until half to 2/3s lever travel. Very annoying. I have tried several adjustments to no avail. Nothing seems to work. I will try your way precisely and see what happens.
