Default Primary whining noise at clutch end

I'm closing in on 14.000 miles on my 11 King and my warranty runs out Dec 9th. I love this bike and it's been trouble free.
Now I have this whining or whirring noise coming from the clutch end of the primary. I also find it hard to shift in to 2nd gear, all the rest are easy up and down.
I did a Search on this but most every one said the noise stops when in neutral, mine never stops. Don't make any deference clutch in or out, in gear or in neutral, it's there all the time. At slower speeds under 40 mph and if I let off the gas, no clutch, no down shift, it make's a louder high pitched whine for a second then back to it's normal whine.
Higher the rpm faster it gets. I don't remember this noise when it was new, I started to notice it over the last 7 or 8000 miles.
At idle with my ears down close to the derby cover it's very noticeable. If I move to the front of the primary I cant hear it very much. same for the right side of the motor.
Defiantly coming from the clutch end of the primary. The clutch is adjusted good and the clutch work's great. My Dealer did install a new clutch cable about 5000 miles back, but I could hear the whine before that, just not as loud. Some days it seems louder then others but that could just be me. I took it to a Harley Dealer that I was told had a great service department about 1000 miles back and he said it was on the loud side but felt it was normal.
I wish I had a dollar for every time I herd that.
So what say you....Thanks.

primary chain tension ?

obviously I can't hear it from here...

if the drive belt or primary chain have been run over-tight, that can wear the bearings... what some might call the "IPB" inner primary bearing

Possibly the IPB going south? The HD chain tensioner also leaves something to be desired and probably attributes to taking out the IPB's.

Are you guys sure?
I spent a hour on the search forums last night on IPB and most all of them said something like this.

Not necessariy a grinding noise but more of a scraping noise. Did it at Idle or in gear, "but sound went away everytime you pulled in or engaged the clutch lever"

On mine the noise never stops no matter what I do, clutch in or out don't make any deference. My bike only dose it when hot, cold it sounds great. As I said it comes from the clutch area on the primary.
I can take it to my Dealer this Tuesday but all the service guys there are like robots walking around saying,,,'that's normal'
If any one can direct me to a Thread that has the same symptoms as my bike would be cool.
Thanks for any info you guys can give me before I go to the Dealer.

Somebody has a bearing starting to talk to them....

Try the ol screwdriver against the ear method, might narrow it down

High pitched whine?....better hurry

Question,
Does the HD extended warranty cover the inner primary bearing replacement???

I doubt a bearing would whine for 8000 miles and not fail. Sounds like the chain is to tight to me. Take the cover off and check it out.
