What does it take to install a halo headlight(like those on ebay)on a 05 Ultra? I was told one time that my bike has the upgraded headlight, have no idea what that means. Guess I could take it apart and look, but really hate messing with it..

If your talking about this one, go for it. Just a regular H-4 55/65w bulb with some kind of reflective ring.

Remove 3 screws from windshield, 4 screws from fairing and snap in and connect your new light. Your system will handel it without a problem.

 

i was thinking of getting one of these for my 04 RK but didnt think it would make it that much brighter at night.

Wouldn't having the main headlight on all the time defeat the purpose of the halo light? I know that the BMWs have them but they can turn off the main headlights to let the halo light to be seen.

 

True, didn't think about the headlight. Probably washes out the effect. I've seen the halo's around the spotlamps and they look good. My wife wants them on her FatBoy. Don't know about my RoadSofa though...
