Yep, that's the sticking point, the shock lower. If there was was about 3 1/2" from the mounting point of the shock to the spring seat, it would work.

It looks like the Ohlins 2's spring seat sits lower on the shock than on the Ohlins 3's. I've got 3's. Eye-balling it (I don't have the kit in my hands), I can't tell. But it looks like the blocks just MIGHT work for the 3's. If there's interference, it'll be with the rebound damping ****. I'll probably fit it up, and see how it goes... Thanks for the info, HDV-GLIDE.

This place is "cram packed full" of information, liars, and idiots!

Your signature is absolutely accurate. There is a ton of fantastic info here but you have to sort thru the BS and self proclaimed "experts" to find it.

I like to read through the posts.... sift through it all, and take the advice of my Indy... he is usually right in comparison.

Here's a pic of the LA Choppers lowering kit installed on my 2004 Road King Custom (with hard-bags) with Ohlins 3-3's. The pictured steel spacer is about 1/8" longer than the one provided with the kit for the same purpose. It's a tight fit, but I can still adjust the rebound damping (**** next to lowering block), and there's no interference issues.

The top of the shock is not an issue. There's no interference issue there (except with the bags--which have to be spaced outward, as well. Mine were already spaced out (to clear my seat) so I didn't use the provided spacers in the kit...but I assume the spacers LA Choppers give you would work with the longer spacer shown).

My primary concern with this is the additional stress placed on the bolt, by having the shock sit further out toward the unsupported bolt-end. It's only about 1/8" (give or take a 16th) more than LA Choppers design, but sometimes even a small change can make a critical difference. I figured: What the hell?

Well the member(s) who told me they used the LA Lowering Kit with their Ohlins shocks must not have the #2-3's because there is no way in hell the lowering kit will work with those shocks.

Another waste of $70+ dollars!!!!
Why didn't you get in touch with both of those companies BEFORE you bought the parts to verify they would work?

I was problably the one you listened to. I have 3-3 on my FLHTK with no problems. I might of spaced the shocks out an 1/8 to clear the damper ****.
