Just an idea. Almost every one I know have installed the wing extensions.

Adjustable air flow, less turbulence, better wind protection.

Why not reform the Batwing?

Spread it out, put vents in. It still looks good and would function so much better.

We have had the same fairing for 30 ++ years, maybe it is time for a change.

That's a great question. I assume they want to keep the look the same but I for one would love to see a redesign. Come up with a design, put it in a wind tunnel, see the results, make changes, repeat process.

 

Built in obsolescence....

Didn't you guys get the memo? That's what the MoCo does. They build these obvious "flaws" into their bikes so that guys like us will buy the aftermarket parts to change things to our preference. Why do you think those pre-tapped holes are there?

 

Its good the way it is. If you want the wings you can put em on yourself.
