Default Chaps install= more wind hitting me??

Ok so i took a ride with my Air lite chaps on, (crash bar) and seems to me that i'm getting hit with more wind coming over the crashbars or under the fairing. So my question is, is there anything i can do to stop so much wind from hitting me? Fairing wings, fork mounted deflector's?? Seems a waste to have the chaps only to get more wind hitting me??
Thanks
Steve in Ct

Those things are a pain to put on and take off. A good pair off chaps that you wear is the best thing I have found. I ride year round here in Virginia. Yeah I know about New England, it's a lot worse than here. Those Harley lowers are just too damn expensive. Well if you had just gotten the Ultra ........

I got the desert dawgs they cut the wind hitting me and easy on easy off .. but i keep mine on till it gets close to 95f ,
Another member had a thread were he did a lot of testing and they actually helped cool engine more buy directing wind towards engine.

Ok this may sound dumb but...Maybe cut a flap down low in them so some wind can pass thru, creating a venturi affect that may pull some of the wind downward rather than up in your face. The thought on this is like those big signs or barriers people make out of tarps, have holes in them to direct the wind.

they just are not aerodynamic.

re-occuring theme in bagger world is the bigger the hole you try to push through the air, the more power it takes.

and the more air pushed out of the way, the deeper the pressure differential in front of and to the rear of the object being pushed

and the deeper the pressure differential, the more uncontrolled air is going to fill the hole, rushing from the top, sides, bottom and lots of eddy currents

hard fairing lowers would be a better solution- somewhat more aerodynamic

I have airlite chaps and the fork mounted deflectors, I get less wind with the chaps on. Maybe the fork deflectors are your answer.

I should note that I also have the fairing deflectors (freedom wings) and the fork mounted baffle.

I leave everything on except the chaps, I only put them on if it's 60 deg or less. and BTW it takes less then a min. to put them on and off.

Another vote for hard lowers. World of difference over my softies.....just too damm expensive!!! Fork mounted deflectors maybe?
