I agree with others here. The HD rain gear works great but I'd also add that the FXRG nylon jacket and pants are even better. I was a bit skeptical at first when I got the FXRG stuff but the water rolls right off. The pants are a bit bulky so I wear the pants from my other HD suit with the FXRG jacket.

I have a HD Overpass and have used it in hard rain for a 8 hour stretch and stayed dry as a bone, had a cheap set for my wife and eventually tore and stopped at a HD dealer in the Smokies and bought her a HD Hi- Viz suit...Voila...You get what you pay for...

Another vote vote the HD hi-vis. Mine are new, only been in a light rain so far and they worked. Consider this, when it's raining you can't see as well, neither can anyone else so the hi-vis orange, green if you prefer, gives you a safety advantage. I also have the FXRG leather jacket in large and the large HD rain suit fits nicely over the leather jacket. Yes, I know the FXRG is touted to be waterproof, but on a trip I don't want to test it's effectiveness. When I am several hundred miles from home and get caught in a rain, I want to be dry.

I also have Tourmaster suit that worked well for around town but it didn't have the rubber seating surface or the heat shields on the leg. I was fortunate it didn't melt but it would have been just a matter of time. Good stuff costs money. I ordered mine from Lakeshore HD and saved 20%.

The HD rain gear works really well. Frog Toggs are junk and leak in the crotch area before too long.

Problem with the HD line is that they don't offer a tall size. Tried them and to get pants long enough I had to ask the sales lady to to jump in to help take up the waste!!! Same with the jacket; buy one that fits the body and the arms come to my elbows.

HD Hi Viz rain gear is great stuff. I have been in downpours, pulled into the garage and bone dry.

Momma and I have HD Hi Vis Suits. Worth every penny IMO. If your wife doesn't feel comfortable about getting caught in heavy rain then is she going to be much less likely to ride long distances with you.

We stay dry as a bone and we look like the Great Pumpkin driving down the road.

The Hi Vis jackets also make nice wind breakers if you forget to bring a jacket with you....

Well we went to another dealer in town today and they had the HD Hi Viz set for me and wife. Once we put them on we could tell the quality was far superior than the other crap we tried on. About 400 out the door, but going on what you all said, will be well worth the money. Fit was perfect for both. Thanks.
