Default Rain gear

Looking into getting rain gear for my wife and I. It's our first set so what's a good comfortable set to get. Went to HD and they were $$$ but didn't even have any in stock, went to other cycle shop and seemed like crap. Thanks.

Default Rain gear.

Harley has some very good gear for ridin' in the wet.
I have a set and it has worked very well.
All good "kit" cost more.

I use HD Rain Gear, and I've been caught in hurricane type rain and stayed dry!...I tried the cheap rain gear and you do get what you pay for!.....There are others out there that are really good quality also, but at the HD Store I can try it on for fitment.

If you are going to do any serious riding don't skimp on the rain gear. I made that mistake once and went into a ride from FL to SD with a set of Frogg Toggs. The pants didn't last a full day before they started leaking in the crotch. Ended up buying a pair of H-D pants off the shelf just to finish the trip. When I bought my new bike last year I got new rain gear as well. A good Harley set with suspenders to keep the pants around your butt when sitting. The pants also have sewn in heat shield protection on the right leg so it won't melt to your pipes. Ask anyone who has had to try to scrap melted rain gear off their pipes and they will tell you. Here is the link to the set I have. Hope this helps.

I guess it depends how often you plan to ride in the rain. For me personally I rarely see rain living here in Southern California except during a few of the winter months. When I'm at home, if it's raining I usually don't ride. The most likely time that I will see rain is when I'm on a trip. For the limited usage my rain gear sees, spending a lot is not justifiable to me.

Cheap and pretty effective - Frog Toggs. Walmart. Less than $50.00.

I also use HD rain suit and boot gaters. Don't really need the boot covers on the Ultra, but I do on the Sporty.

I like the FXRG jacket and Aerostitch Darien pants. On the Low Rider I would get some weeping under the collar in a pretty good rain, but everything else stayed dry. I'm hoping the Roadie fairing will stop most of the rain.
Neither is cheap, but in this case you will generally get what you pay for.
