Default Rubbing noise?

Today my new Road Glide (2013 FLTRX with 1100 miles) started making what sounded like a rubbing noise coming from the rear of the bike as I slowed down but not necessarily slowing down with the brakes. This was a very obvious noise. So, I get to point where I have the bike at a complete stop and can roll forward until I hit the spot that the noise starts. My assumption at this point is possibly a warped rear brake rotor (I'm not a mechanic but it seemed logical). I turn off the bike and when I restart the bike the noise begins while sitting still in unison with the flashing ABS light. I move forward 2 feet the noise stops. But now goes back to occurring at slow down. While riding the ABS light stays off.
Has anyone else had an issue like this?
Jay

You may well have correctly indicated the rotor. Anoying it might be you'll have to make a visit to the dealer for that. And whilst there, you have to buy that scoot a little present to calm it's nerves.

Lift the bike up on a jack and spin the rear wheel.

Why would the noise start while sitting still as the ABS light flashes?

you've been on the road awhile, and when you stop the ABS light starts flashing? Is that right? If so, I think your ABS is trying to tell you something I'll have to double check today to be sure, but I don't think mine does that after start up and a few feet. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed it if it did.

To clarify, The ABS light only flashes when the bike is initially started, which it is supposed to do. The manual says this is a self diagnosis in which the light will go out if everything is good. The strange thing is that when the light was flashing, sitting still, the noise came back in unison with the flash. This is why I did not think it was an issue with a warped rotor.

You are correct. Next time I'll read the question twice.

It sounds like something in the abs system is acting up maybe one of your wheel bearings is going out causing the abs to activate or could be as simple as a loose wire. You hear a noise from the back of the bike. I believe the abs pump is behind one of the side covers. Keep us up so we know for future ref

I will find out at some point this week and re-post with the results. I am thinking it has to do with the ABS system in some capacity. The big question is whether the ABS has an issue or is something causing the ABS to react to some other problem.
Time will tell...
