Basic Question Regarding Hard Bags Fitment
I have a 2011 Road King Classic and I would like to get a set of hard bags.
I've searched and all I find are threads regarding modified / extended bags.
I assume there are certain model years for which all stock touring bike bags are compatible - but assumptions get me in trouble and in this case could cost me money I don't have.
Are all stock touring bags the same - and what specific year range do I have to stick to for a direct, no hassle swap?
I'd certainly appreciate any feedback.

There are some decently priced aftermarket (stretched) bags out there that you would have to paint and could do for much less then some other options. Are stretched bags not what you want or are you thinking they would cost too much?
Not sure what they'd look like on a King, but here are Hardstreet bags on my Softail. Not too expensive and you can make them detachable.

As mentioned ....from '93 to present the hard bags are the same and will fit.
Your rear mounting point is fixed, and the forward one is adjustable. Just loosen and pivot. You will need to adjust for the leather to plastic swap.

Thanks to all for the feedback. I have seen used bags for sale that were advertised to fit 2009 and up..... and other that stated 1993 and up. Good to know 1993 and up is correct.
Glockmeister: I am also going to look into aftermarket offerings but my thought was that OEM bags of the right year would be perfect fitment-wise, but I have read of aftermarket bags that guys are very happy with. Perhaps that will be the way I go - I'm going to have to paint them anyway.
Aysrav: They look great on your bike!
SunCruise: That is an absolutely beautiful motorcycle. Thanks for the information.
Again, I appreciate everyone's helpful feedback!

i need to do this adjustment, wasn't aware you could and fought putting bags on first time. Picked up my 2013 RKC at around 5 and by 7 or so those leather bags were on craigslist.
