Yes I can't believe they left them like that. I would ask for them back and why aren't they painted. I left mine on and painted them the same color as the inner

Agreed. They should have re-installed your old ones or sold you new ones and installed them.

Mine were removed, painted and reinstalled with the painted inner fairing like it should be. Sounds like they did as little as possible for you.

Ya if it was me I would take it back and have it right before they give it back to you. You will want them painted and not just black

Why would it make a difference if it was painted or not to have the screws in there?????? Mine was painted and i just looked they are back in there. He just left them off and came up with that.

The dealership has no obligation to paint wind deflectors just because a customer purchases a painted inner faring. (unless that was part of the original deal)

The tech should have explained to the OP what the holes were for other than just saying "they are not used". The OP should have also known what the holes were for, if the bike came in with deflectors.

Sounds like you have already worked this out as to what you are going to do. But as others have said, if you don't have the deflectors, then get some. They work really well.

Mine were painted and installed. I think your tech just misplaced yours and didn't want to admit it. Have the dealer make it right.

Agreed. Sometimes its the little attention to detail that really makes a lasting impression. Your dealer dropped the ball on that one. Their finished product equals shoddy workmanship in my book.

Not so sure we can blame the dealer for this one. The OP's signature says he has a 2009 Street Glide. None of us knows if he bought the bike new or used. If he bought used like I did, those plugs may have been removed by a previous owner as was the case on my bike. So there were no plugs to transfer over to the new painted inner. When I bought my painted inner fairing I also bought the seals that go between the inner and outer fairings figuring Harley wouldn't supply those in the kit. To my surprise they did. Now it would have also been nice if mother Harley had included the plugs for the wind deflector holes too, but that's asking to much I guess. This is probably one of the rare times I would defend the dealer, at least without knowing ALL the circumstances. Just my 2 cents!

IMO...if the plugs were there BEFORE the inner was painted then they should be there AFTER it's complete. Leaving open holes is an "unfinished" project.
