Default Inner fairing question

Local dealership was running a special on painted inner fairings so I decided to pull the trigger and get mine done. Picked the bike up today and after I got home I saw where the screws are missing on both sides of the inner. Talked to tech that worked on bike and he said they are not needed nor used on a painted inner. Shouldn't I get something to put there? Pic attached.

The tech was right, sort of. The holes are used for the wind deflectors if you buy them. Otherwise the holes can be filled with a platic plug. The plastic plugs are like eighty cents each or there about. The parts counter guy can order them for you.

Holy $hit. With the cost of having the painted inner done (special or no special) I can't help but wonder what some of these damn dealers are thinking, to let a bike leave looking like that. Why were the old ones not put back in, or some suitable substitute at least offered? That would be my LAST visit to that dealer.

This is one of the many reasons I work on my own. I had to take it to a dealer for 2 recalls one of the two I had to redo. Had Fairbanks Alaska service it and next time I will take the things to do it. Then in Janesville WI on the way back from Alaska I had a tier put on do to a slice in it and they cracked my pipe as they must have pushed down on the mufflers instead of taking them off to remove the axle but what do you do on the road. In 91K I never crack a pipe when installing a tire. Mine is a 02 Ultra so came with the deflectors and they make a BID difference.
