De-cat
OK, I know several will disagree, but I just had my 2012 FLHTK de-catted and it sounds incredibly better. Stock mufflers! Really can hear the difference. Not that I'm planning on leaving it that way very long. I have SuperFlows coming in the mail. But I'm really impressed with the difference just de-catting makes!
+1 on de-catting, I did my 11 RKC before xmas, still waiting for a decent day to try it out. I added a new air cleaner and programmer from FuelMoto, the difference in sound (in the garage) is amazing.
I agree, easy mod and great enhancement. I added V&H monster ovals and a K&N air filter and what a difference. If you're a little handy you can do it yourself. Here is some pics to help. Just remember to drill around the outside of the cat material before you knock it out makes it much easier. I used a screwdriver and hammer to finish up what little was left on the inside walls. Put 4 lines across the point ( front, both sides and back) where you cut it to line it up when you weld it back together.
