Default Road Glide repaint ideas

My '04 FLTRI has lowers and is Sierra Red. Always thought it was a little too "rasberry" of a red. Going to do a repaint. I know this is a completely subjective thing, but I'd like some feedback....I'm considering a solid (non-pearl/metallic) Ferrari Red or a two tone Cinnamon metallic and Black combination.
Any opinions? Ideas? Constructive feedback is always welcomed!

I think a two tone dark red/burgundy would look good. I then have the painter break the line up with some sort of design. Like a tribal or a ripped metal look

^ +1. I've always liked anice two-tone as well. It gives a very elegant presentation (if that's what you are going for) on a large bike like a RG, and looks very clean when done with reds/blacks/silvers.

These pictures are Tangerine, but your red would look just as killer.

select a painter first.........

bring some colors of choice and a few ideas , then let your painter work his Magic.
The more paint job you look at, the more F-ed up you get...[8D]

Always wanted a solid red one myself. Single tones are classy IMHO, the "understated" helps focus on the nice lines of the bike itself. Either way, you're sure to like it. At least you won't have the "black pearl" that I do on mine which really looks like root beer in the sunlight!

I am not a fan of single colorEG'sor RG's; just seems like too much (even if the color itself is great) when its on the fairing, tank, hard bags, and a tour pak in many instances. And the striping on the RG's has always struck me as amateurish, not bad looking, just not very talented in concept.

Take a look at bikes that appeal to you and figure out what it is, what elements, about them that you like: colors, graphics, etc. And look atthe entire package: chromed front end, calipers, wheels, etc. The eye appeal to you will be in the total package.

Also, consider adding a Street Glide rear fender treatment when you are doing this. For less than $200 in parts you can replicate the FLHX rear fender filler and LED/facia; you will have to drill six holes in the fender to attach the facia--but that's no big deal.

Paint the inner fairing add some spun aluminum gauges (that use red led's, ala the SE Ultra), etc. and you will have a very sweet ride.

Good luck; and post pics when you have your"new" ride.

Maybe add some texture to the paint.
