Sequence of modifications
Getting ready to start my winter mods now that spring is here! The main modifiacation is to install chrome lowers with monotubes and new bars along with clutch/brake line. Looking for advice as to which one should I complete first?
You're already tearing into the entire front-end so I don't understand why there's a choice...aren't you already doing both mods (chrome lowers/tubes & bars/cables)..?? So...why not break-down the entire front all at once..??
I know I have to pull the nacelle apart for each one and can't really complete either project by itself completely. My thoughts were to install the bars then the forks, after forks are on then finish the bar job by bleeding the brakes.
I assume before the bars go on I should install mid brake lines(magnum shielded) and transmission side of the clutch cable. Correct?

Guess I'm just not being understood. If I have to pull more apart to do the forks then the handle bar job then I would start with the forks and finish with the bars. This will be my first time at this and I want to avoid putting something back together just to find later it has to come off again. Or find that maybe installing the bars would have been easier while I had the forks off.
After I do this I will be able to answer my own question.

I would start with the clutch cable. Do it with the bike on the side stand. You will have oil everywhere if you do this on a jack. Route it up near the handlebars like it was just disconnected.
Now put it up on the lift or jack.
Then I would take the handlebars off and transfer the controls to the new bars, run the wires inside, ect, ect, and set them aside ready to go back on the bike
Then pull the front brakes, wheel, and fender off. Remove the front forks and rebuild/chrome them one by one.
Then re assemble in the reverse order.
Then do the front brake line once the handlebars are back on. If the current line is not long enough then disconnect the line just before mounting the master on the new bars. You might want to "break" the banjo bolt free before you remove the master in the very beginning.
Hope this helps......
Also consider doing the poly riser bushings when you do the handlebars.

Poly bushings even though I'm not installing apes, I'm putting 518's on? I have been wondering about this.
