So many things you can do to make these bikes even more comfortable.

Someone suggested you look at a Road Glide due to it being roomier. I have no personal experience with a RG, but since it's the same frame, I'm not sure how you're going to have any more room... just moves the fairing a little further away from you.

You can get any number of seats that will move you back a little since you're tall, and the Tour-Pak relocator kit from George Anderson will move the Mrs. back, giving everyone more room.

Highway pegs are a must.

At least take a good look at the RoadGlide Ultra. In any case two up and you plan to ride one of the Ultras get the full packages and be done with it.

Just go to a dealer. Let them know your intentions.
Test ride or rent each model of what you're interested in.
Take notes. Compare notes.
Look for your best deal.
Make your best deal.
Take pics. Post pics.
Happy ridin'.

I have an Electra-Glide Ultra Limited and love it. I haven't been on a Road Glide so I cannot comment on that, though they seem like the same bike to me with different fairings.

The Electra glide works well for the wife and I, a combined weight over 450 lbs. I ride 15k+ miles per year, mostly solo but when the wife and I decide to go somewhere the bike takes us and all our gear without complaint.

Think the post on RG having more room for taller riders has some validity and worth checking out.

Got the EGC. What GREAT ride!!! The difference wasn't nearly as bad as I had worked myself up into. The radio and cruise is nice. But no ABS(thought it did). Just a little more braking time though. Smooooth.

Congrats on your new bike!!

If 12k in 3 years is typical of your riding, it will hate you for letting it sit in the garage so much.

Now, if you plan to triple that, it will be a happy camper and never let you down. And it will be super nice to ride for those longer rides past the bike night locations.

Me, I have 24k on mine, and it won't be two years old for another 4 months. And most of my miles are to work and back and weekend rides. Have only taken one trip on it and that was for only 1k miles round trip.

Good luck with it, but ride the crap out of it.
