Default Which Touring again??

I'm coming from 12000 miles in 3 years on a 2010 FXDWG and now my wife has ok'd the purchase of another bike. Thought I always wanted an Electra Glide Classic and have come across a super deal on a new one. Sat on one for the first time yesterday and almost felt like I was on top of the tank and falling forwrd as opposed of laying back on my wideglide. I am 6'4" with most of my height above my waist( i still saw over the windshild of the bike yesterday by a good 6 inches) and 250 pounds. I'm sure the new bike would carry me better along with my wife. Together we top 430 and are well above the dyna's max limit. I guess highway pegs on the engine guard will help me stretch out. The radio and cruise on the new one "would" be nice along with the ABS. radio, abs, and cruise we're all ordered on this one.

Probably going to decide this morning on what to do. Would appreciate all the KNOWLEDGE you can pass along :-)

Can't beat a dresser for touring two up. Have had ultra's since 04 and average about 13k a year riding two up. The one thing I did on all the bikes was move the tour pack back to give the queen more room, George Anderson co has a fairly inexpensive kit for doing this. The rider backrest is a plus on long days, along with cruise control and music. My knees are shot and I find it painful if I keep them on the floorboards too long, the highway pegs on the crash bars allow you to stretch out your legs. I also put on adjustable pegs for the wife so she can move her legs around as well. Before I decided to move up to the ultra I rented one for a day, all I really needed was an hour to make my decision. Good luck with yours.

Sit on a Road Glide to compare. Much roomier in front of you and might reduce some of that sitting on the gas tank sensation. Electra Glides always felt small to me (6'2.")

(Down the road, a new seat will help too.)

I just bought a '13 EGC after trading my '08 EGC.
90% of my riding is 2up and we're both real comfortable.
You won't be disappointed!

If you definately want a new "Classic", make sure you buy the new '13.
There will be no new '14's, this model has been discontinued.

if you take the seat off and look at the pan,if it has low stamped in it that is the problem, change it to a sundowner and try that, gets the old sack off the tank

+1 on asking them to swap seats for you. I would ask them to put ont he tall boy and see how you and the wife like it.

So nice, you said it twice!!

And yes, the Sundowner seat will make all the difference in your riding comfort, and give you more of a feeling of sitting down, into the bike.

I am 6'3", 210 lbs and my wife is 5'8", 180lbs. I have a 2003 FLHTCUI. It handles great, but definitely took some getting used to. I took the Rider's Edge Skilled Riders Course and rode for 1k before riding 2 up. Braking hard without skidding the rear, took some practice. I wouldn't want to learn 2 up.

I rode a loaner Wide glide and I couldn't handle it at all. So the 2 bikes must ride a lot different.

It is a shame they are getting rid of the Classic. Probably best bang for buck. Guess they don't get the entry-level concept. First they dropped the Standard which was similar to a Streetglide, but only 15k. Now the Classic.

If you do buy passenger pegs I highly recommend the Rivcos over the Kuryakyn.
