Default measuring fork oil

I'm getting ready to do a fork change out on my flhx and was wondering what do you use to measure out the 10.7 oz correctly. I'm gonna do the 50/50 mix while changing to progressive lowering springs.

Thanks

I just used a 16oz measuring cup.. that I got from Wal Mart kitchen wares.. made a note of how much was in there... cleaned it out and poured the new in the cup, then to the funnel with a hose running into the top of the fork.

Your local ricer dealer should have a ratio rite measuring cup. Will Do cc's, oz's, pints, also works for mixing oil gas ratios. I would use Bell Ray 15w when changing out the oil too. Doesn't get any better than Bell Ray. JMO

Available in kitchens everywhere.

Conveniently pre-cleaned for your use, usually. Just make sure you wash it thoroughly before you put it back.

you can completely forego the fluid oz measuring and simply measure the fluid level as outlined in the manual, its the final step to the fluid level adjustment procedure and more important than how many ozs you put in. Set the depth on a combination square and put it in the tube with the square head resting on the top edge of the tube, use a flashlight to look inside while you pour in fluid until it comes up to the ruler, pump it a few times and double check. Put the springs back in and put the cap on, done.

Agree, since you are going to have the springs out anyway, this is the preferred time to fill with oil. If you have one of those Motion Pro syringes that siphon excess oil out to attain the desired level, all the better. But if you accidentally overfill, just pour some out and have another go at filling to the correct level.

I think they tell you that silliness since they want you be try to get close. I just use the Harley bottle side marker. Three bottles will do mine twice. I do not believe an ounce either way could possibly hurt.

The one I used from the kitchen I just wiped it out with the "show towels" and left 'em on the counter.

I bought this off EBAY for $3.89, then converted CC to ML. Came across a thread here on doing the conversion. I read into trying to get it all precise and stuff. At the end of the day use the wife's pyrex measuring cup.
