Default warm up issue...

first i have a 12 SG with big radius pipes big city baffles and torque cones, A/C and a power vision tune running 12T103002401 tune as dynojet says the flow characteristics are about the same.

my issue the last two times i started it when the bike is cold it starts runs up to about 1100-1200, i live in az and it was upper 80's low 90's let it idle for a minute or so and go to blip the throttle and it would stumble if i try to take off at first it will stumble and act like it was going to die if i let it warm up a little longer i can make it about 100 yds and then it clears out gone no more issue at all! this just started in the last 2 starts only thing i can think is maybe a bad exhaust gasket or loose exhaust nuts, its always had bad decel pop but i just figured that on the short pipes. anyone got some input?

someone who knows that tuner will be sure to help you.

I do not think you have an exhaust related problem- more like fuel mixture

for reference with our recent temps, my bike ( no tuner- xieds instead)- will surge to about 1400 on start up, settle to 1200 or so...then be at it's usual 1000 rpm idle after a few miles.

I generally let the motor warm in the driveway for a couple of minutes...old habits, on the evos you had to do this, hammering a cold motor could squirt the base gaskets out the sides.
I warm it until the heads are warm to the touch

You've got EFI, you shouldn't have to warm it up. You may have fouled your plugs.

I had a bike that I had to warm up before I rode it since it was new. I had to wait on a cold start for the RPM to drop then I knew it was ready. If I was with a group I had to be the first one to the bikes because I had to let it warm up for at least 1-2 minutes if I stopped longer than a half hour. So now I'm on my bike with it running and everyone thinks Im in a hurry to go which I was not and just trying to get it to temperature. If I tried to ride it it would stumble until it was warmed up some. I came upon that it was very cold natured when it tried to throw (bucking) me in a lean when I would pull out the drive.

if you think maybe you have crap gas- add as much better gas as soon as possible- do not wait.
