Cool SE Pushrod Adjustment

Just returned from Americade last week and noticed a slight tappet noise from my 2005 RK with a 103" SE big bore kit that was done by dealer prior to my buying it. removed pushrod and did a tread count and looks like 24 TPI so removed plugs and bought cylinder to TDC and adjusted pushrod out 2.5 turns from zero lash motor sounds great but seems like little less sack than before (might just be my imagination) anybody have any other methods for pushrod adjustment I even used end of pencil to ensure piston was top of stroke before adjustment

HD instructions for their pushrods call for 2.5 full turns from zero lash. I did that, lots of tapping, went to 3 and much better but next time in, I'm going 2 more flats. Thats with using non-stock lifters though....

I ended up at 3.5 turns with mine and it's been pretty quiet with that setting.

Ran mine at 3 1/2 too. Seemed quiet to me!
