Issues with Cruise Control staying on

Issues with Cruise Control staying on
New 2013 RK. The cruise will work for a bit, then go off (while green light remains lit), then the engine light comes on. If I play with the CC set button enough, the CC will work for 5-10 minutes and engine light goes off. Then the cruise will turn off and engine light comes back on. And it repeats. The engine light stays on when not attempting to use the CC. I brought the bike in for service two weeks ago and the technician could see the codes, but found no problems and reset everything (he also checked all wiring).
Last week while on a trip, the same thing happened again! So I called the service department and they walked me through resetting the codes. It worked for about an hour. I reset the codes the next day and it worked about 6 hours.
Any thoughts as to what the problem might be so I don't waste any more time running back & forth to the dealer?

Chances are there is more to the story, like the dealer is 100 miles away. Unfortunately, I have no suggestions that YOU should do, if plugs are not properly connected, pins making intermittent contact, this is a warranty issue and unless you are experienced, you could break something expensive, then you're stuck. The warranty is 2 years and unlimited mileage. I know you want it right, but if the riding season is short, take it in in the fall.

i'm sure if you hit them with this, they might get on the ball to figure it out:
Is your vehicle a lemon?
Your vehicle is a lemon if all of the following statements are true:
You bought or leased a new vehicle.
The vehicle is a car, truck, motorcycle or motor home.
The vehicle developed a defect or defects during its first year and before the warranty expired.
The defect seriously harms the vehicle's use, value or safety.
One of the following happened during the vehicle's first year and before the warranty expired:
The dealer failed four times to fix the same defect; OR
The vehicle was out of service for 30 days or more due to defects
i think the cruise control could fall under the safety issue, as it could be very dangerous if you're cruising along in heavy traffic and all of a sudden the bike starts decelerating

If it were a faulty brake light switch, that should kill the green cruise light. Could be a double malfunction, faulty brake switch kills cruise but green light stays on. Sounds even more like a dealer warranty fix the more complicated it gets. Re the lemon law, even if it is a stretch to say it is a safety problem, it will go against the resale value and that would be a loss of value. I'd take in a copy just to let them know I'm thinking about it.

Some good ideas here, especially about the double malfunction (rear brake and switch maybe???). As for the lemon law, definitely something to keep in the back of my mind.
My thoughts were to post the question on the Forums so that I could be proactive in giving the dealer some options. I really can't stand relying on someone else, especially when guessing is involved. My plan is to bring it to the dealer with my research in hand and make sure that when I pick it up, it is DONE and READY to go.
Thanks.
