Default Touring 2 into 1 exhaust?

Looking at installing an S&S 2 into 1 exhaust system on my '08 RKC. Any advantages or disadvantages to a 2 into 1 vs a true dual setup on a touring bike other than aesthetics? Performance gain or loss? Just curious.

Currently running an S&S high flow air intake with fullsac true dual conversion and PC III but the S&S kit interests me.

Thanks.

A two into one pipe is going to give you better performance than duals.

2 into 1 = better performance, I like duals on a dresser, and I chose the V&H Power Duals. 2 into 1 into 2 with same style collector as their pro pipe.

Excellent smooth sound and 2 mufflers to flow 2 cylinders when I get on it.

Rode to a cousins place last Monday, was on old MO 21 out of Potosi when came up on a twin to my ride, same striping and black but considerable difference as to mods. Fella riding it was from CO by license plate, had a single right hand exhaust but still sounded pretty good.

2 into 1 will only help your performance, nothing wrong with that. I personally think it takes some of the traditional HD sound away but that's only my opinion. I was really torn between going with a 2-1 exhaust or my current set up. In the end, I realized I'm almost 50 and performance wasn't as important to me as it once was. Best of luck!!

As said, the performance is the biggest difference. And you will notice it.

As for sound and looks, it's very subjective. You can always add the ghost pipe for the look you want.

when I was building my last bagger we dyno'd it with dual rhinehards and V&H 2 into 1. We went with the 2 into 1. A little better back pressure and a little better performance.
