Default new handlebars

I'm looking to replace the handlebars on an '07 road King Custom. I'd like to continue with the beach bar look while goingwith a 1 1/2" fat bar. I wouldn't be opposed to an additional 1 to 2" rise as I've replaced the stock seat which now brings me up a bit. I've looked at Carlini which appear to be a premium product (premium cost also). I also like the look of their hand grips but am concerned with comfort (solid billet, no rubber). I really don't mind going for the bucks with this project because I feel it adds greatly to the look and its a one shot deal. Just don't want to make any mistakes if possible. Your insights, experiences and opinions would be most appreciated.

I have Wild One Chubby Beachbars on my Custom and love them! I had the same bars on my previous bike as well.
Its like power steering. The ones that come on the custom are absolutely the worse bars I have ever TRIED to use.
Could not even sell them on the forum for months. Pitch em and go with the chubby's. i had the dealer run the wires and would not
settle for any other bar on this beast. If you would like a pic or two you can email me with your email address.

by the way, I also use a Corbin Solo. The stock seat was also a back ache waiting to happen.
I used the Harley Sundowner two up as well and is was a dream. The stock one is terrible. Like the bars.

All the best.

Your choices on 1-1/2" diameter bars are very limited. Carlini you already know about and the only other choices I've found are on page 4.41 of the 2006 Custom Chrome catalog (online at the CC site). The "Disco" or "Retro" bars sound like a fit foryour description. The "Dresser" bars are what is on my RK (photos in my album).

Keep in mind that for 1-1/2 bars you'll need to change to an 1-1/2" riser clamp. Add $115 for the 1-1/2" RK clamp that just barely will fit under the riser cover. At least in my case, there was enoughspace in the cover's side notchesto clear the large diameter bars without any trimming. Be sure to get poly riser bushings too so the heavier bars don't sage over time.

One thing I should have done was to paint the sides of the riser clamp because a bitof the cast metal is nowexposed through the cover's side notches.

Since 1-1/2" bars are beyond chubby, you could say they are obese. Though these bars are extra fat, I think that they are in perfect propotion to a bagger. Good luck with you project and please post pics when you ar done.

Wow - I bet 1-1/2" bars would indeed look fat! Just to add to the conversation, here's a pic of a set of Wild One "Chubby" 508's on my Road King. I really like them a lot! They are "only" 1-1/4", but provide a good look to the bike.
