Screaming Eagle 110 heat issues
As mentioned in this thread.. Our crotch coolers will help you out with the heat.. Any questions just give us a call .. Thank you Itch ..
I rode my 110 CVO for 5 years and loved the bike.........except for the heat on my right calf and thigh. I gutted the CAT and it made very little difference. I added the Wards fans and they were fantastic at keeping the heads temps down enough to prevent the EITMS from ever engaging even on the hottest days. I'm sure they helped with oil temps although I didn't have a gauge. They were no help with regard to heat on my leg. When I test rode my new 2017 Limited I knew for me it was time to make a move.
That's the big difference I see in the Wards fan vs the HD one...
Wards is about reducing cylinder head temps, HD's is for rider comfort.
Might be nice to have both. Certainly want the motor cooler

I have a crotch cooler for sale at this time, if anybody's interested.
It's in the classifieds now actually I'll go in there and bump it up.
Or PM me as well and I'll PM back a pic.

Both sites have full photos and product descriptions. The rear cylinder fan is hidden out of the way, and pulls the hot air down toward the ground as opposed to across the heads like some of the flow through models. One complaint I heard about the flow through models is that they blow hot air onto the rider's right thigh. That was the reason for the rear cylinder fan, and because it is a Harley part, I have a 2 year warranty.
Did you install it or have it installed?
I'm interested in how it was wired up since its not designed for your bike. I'd like to put one on my 2011 CVO Road Glide. Its extremely hot above 90* ambient temperature. Thats most of the summer around here.

Yup,i have been posting here many times post doing the same basic mods a couple yrs back to my 09 flhtcu that doesnt have cat in main head pipes.
I installed the uc oil cooler with twin therm controlled cooling fans along with wards twin cooling fans (looks great & cool both cyls & not just the rear!) at the same time for max cooling which work great together as a cooling team!
Together they reduced oil temp 50 deg f in summer heat and remember that its also the oils job to remove heat from the an air cooled bike motor too so when oil temp is reduced 50 deg f in summer heat engine temo is also sig reduced at same time too.
That made my bike perform much better engine wise along with also improving overall rider comfort too.
That resulted in :
* 50DEG F REDUCTION IN OIL TEMP.
* MOTOR NOW MAINTAINS 10-12PSI HIGHER PRESSURE 2 IDLE & CRUISE TOO.
* VALVES/LIFTERS REMAIN QUIET.
* STOPPED DETONATION WHEN UNDER LOAD.
* MOTOR NOW RETAINS THE PWR/TRQ & CRISP THROTTLE RESPONSE IT ALWAYS LOST IN SUMMER HEAT PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE COOLING MODS.
* HOT STARTS LIKE POST FUELING UP ARE FASTER/EASIER DUE TO STARTER/MOTOR /BATTERY BEING LESS HEAT SOAKED.
* OIL/MOTOR RUNNING COOLER ALSO IMPROVED OVERALL COMFORT & RIDING EXPERIENCE TOO.
Installing the above mentioned 2 cooling mods both at the same time were a very good investment that any air cooled v-Twin HD could greatly benefit from like mine did esp in summer heat.
Also,This past yr i installed Nightrider's Xied enrichment devices (ADJ TO 50%) which didnt noticeably reduce oil/engine temp but they did:
* IMPROVE/SMOOTH OUT THE WAY THE MOTOR FELT/SOUNDED @ IDLE & ALONG WITH THE WAY IT PERFORMED @ CRUISE TOO.
* ELIMINATED THE SURGE IT USED TO HAVE WHEN AT LOW LOAD PART THROTTLE CRUISE & OR WHEN AT LOWER THROTTLE POSITION.
* MADE THROTTLE RESPONSE / MOTOR FEEL MORE CRISP & TRQ'Y.
Lost 1-1.5mpg on avg post rechening up fuel calibration a bit with the Xieds and feel the benfit was well worth the investment .
Happy motoring!

It's had it's issues w/leaking. Not sure it it's fixed now or not.
I know for a while it was shut down due to re-tooling it.
You could check out oilbud oil cooler. https://www.google.com/#q=oil+bud+oil+cooler
It's pricey though, like about $200 more.
Works pretty good too.
