Interesting comment on pricing, I'm asking $1k over dealer offer, in hindsight should have took the dealer trade in offer. Anyway will wait til spring and see what happens. What are you looking at fair price?
Dealers are in a much better position to sell a used bike. They offer financing, consumers often prefer buying from a franchise dealership, they offer warranties and can take in a trade on your trade. We live and learn, It's just not worth the hassle selling a used bike to me, especially if the dealer offers a reasonable offer. I traded in a pristine 2007 SE Ultra on a new bike, the dealer gave me $17,000. I see them offered retail for $21,000 but they are not selling. I think pre-2009 models were really hurt by the 2009 updates. Most riders want a 2009 or newer. IMHO

It's best to use as many classifieds as possible. I've had good luck with craigslist and cycletrader. Some dealers offer consignment sales. Fall is always a tough time to sell a bike, so keep this in mind.

A few years back,Cycle Trader had a deal that your ad would run until sold for a one time fee,you just had to call back to renew it.This was when they had the printed copies.
Dont know if it is still the same.

Here's my 2 cents...
I've sold 2 bikes in the last 2 years.
I found Cycle Trader to be worthless, and the ad just attracted telemarketers who called everyday wanting to list the bike on their site. Ugh!
Craigslist was OK, but full of scammers. Ugh!
The best tool I found was EBay. I sold both bikes to out of state buyers who flew in to get their bikes. The process was seamless and I was lucky to attract honest, sincere buyers. Great experience.

eBay is fine if you don't mind paying a listing fee.
