Default Another "Slip-Ons" Thread

I know, I know --- it's been covered a thousand times. I had Big Louies with a 2.5 baffle on my Limited Ultra. Not too loud for me. Changed to V&H High Outputs last year because I thought the tone was a little deeper than Rush. Maybe it is --- a little bit --- but I think I might go back to Big Louie Slash-Ups to match the contours of my bags. High Outputs are nice, but I could stand more loud. Anybody know the tone of both of these slip-ons, and know something you like as well as these? Also, I heard V&H Monster Ovals, and don't like them. Not what I'm looking for. I'll probably try to go somewhere where I can hear things, but just wondering about opinions right now.

You are saying the High Outputs are not enough?

What head pipe you got? Does it have a cat still in it?

Yup. High Outputs aren't loud enough. No cat. V&H Power Duals.

Dang!! I thought those HOs where loud!! Well, "thought" being their reputation. I've only heard them in person once, and it was Inside the dealership - so it wasn't outside where I could get a good listen.

Hmmmmm..... I know my old CFR knock offs where LOUD, and bassy, awesome deep rumble - but not good for performance.

If you wanna sale the HOs, PM me, I have a friend that wants some.

.... Remember, when we ride, the sound is behind us. Have you followed your bike?

I agree --- they definitely sounded nice inside the building! They sound nice now also. I just want more loud. I've never ridden behind it, but a buddy & I who ride together a lot tells me that they're pretty quiet on the road. I've gone out by the road to hear them when the tech takes it for a spin after service, and I think they're OK, but just not loud enough for me. I've heard about the CFR knockoffs, but I hesitate to get something that I've never heard. I'll be selling the High Outputs. I'll let you know. There's a little chrome peeling off the bottom of the left side, but I'll send you pics sometime. Peeled off a couple of inches, but not too noticeable since it's on the bottom of the very back tip of them.

I'm with ya. i was the same way. But I had so many good things about the sound, and they were only $250ish, i said what the heck, and bought them. They are the best sounded exhaust I have ever heard, hands down.

If you want LOUD, and deep, they are great. Best way to describe them is Thunderheaders on Steroids. They are a little louder and deeper than thunderheaders....

This video kinda sucks, like all exhaust videos.... but here they are. Again I warn you tho, you will take a hit in low end torque......

The guy riding my bike in the video ordered some two days after this video :-)

Sounds pretty good. I'll do some "research" & see if I can hear some, up close & personal! Thanks.
