Default 4.3 Boom

Going thru my 4.3 Boom manual it shows a P&A upgrade for Garmin personal device. So the way I read this, in my case, take it to the dealer and have this upgrade installed and it will take my Garmin and put it on the screen and run thru the bike speakers??
Is this the case or am I dreaming?

No.
Yes.

reference Page 10, Table 1?

Ain't gonna happen with what's currently available in the '14 P&A catalog, although they do show a Road Tech Zumo handlebar mount kit for '14 touring models, the Road Tech Navigation Interface Module listed works with '06 to '13 models, not '14 models (see page 618 of '14 P&A).

Lots of guys locally are not too happy about the lack of interface capability of the '14 radios with their separate GPS units.

Called dealer today and they called Harley on this and was told a module will be available and the cost is $300 installed. Module plugs in the back of the radio and then you have a bunch of wires hanging or leave the Garmin hooked all the time. Don't like that idea.
Most of that cost is in labor so if it does happen looks like I will be doing it myself.
Going to ask my salesman if the offer to upgrade to the 6.5 is still good, may just bite it and go that way?

Makes sense. Probably mid-year add to P&A?

Suspect you won't be able to do it yourself cuz it will probably require a software update install by the dealer to make the interface work.

BTW - the 6.5 Nav has a bunch of unresolved issues:

I have no problems with my 2010 Ultra and Zumo 665. This thread and the recall, (and where is the oil cooler on the 14's?) convinces me to save my money until these problems are fixed. Thanks for contributing.
