Default Big Bore Kit

I just bought an 03 Road King and absolutely love it! It has a lot of work done to it so I am trying to put a parts list together of what it has so I dont someday buy double parts. Anyway most of the stuff isnt to hard to see or figure out. However the salesman and the parts guy claim it either has cams or the 95 kit. So I'm wondering how a guy would be able to tell for sure...

If they say it either has a big bore kit and/or cams, they are probably right due to the difference in how strong you will feel it in the seat of your pants vs. a stock 88 incher.

I tried the previous owner but he bought it the same as I bought it. I am going to try and get a hold of the owner before but if not id like an alternative. I didnt know if there were any number I could find without taking it apart to find out. Ill just ride it and if I think I need more engine work ill just go beyond the 95!

Just put it on a dyno and see what it's putting out. If HP is in the 80s and TQ in the 90s it probably has the 95 incher and cams.

IMO you cant be sure unless you pull it apart. Sometimes even if you find the other owners if they did not actually do the work but just threw $ at someone they wont know the specifics anyway.

Ride it and if you want more, pull it apart and mod it. If you ever get a change to just do a dyno pull you might be able to make a guess based on HP 80- 90s probably cams only, 90-100 probably BB and cams but those are only guesses

The easiest way would be do a compression check, if its high that would indicate a built motor, but than again even if it was built and was tired it could be low. This would be the cheapest way, a dyno will cost a couple hundred or so. When I was a kid i bought a bike from a guy that said it had cams, pistons blah, blah, blah. When I took it apart it was all stock. Dont believe a salesman either.
