Default At a crossroads.

Fellow riders, I am at a crossroad with figuring out what purchase to make. I have always wanted a Street Glide. My dilemma comes from a my past. I traded in my 2010 Wide Glide and got my wife a 2014 72. Now I am bikeless and got the itch to get me a bike so I have one when I return from Afghanistan. The Street Glide is my first choice but I also like the St. Bob. I know I will want a touring bike for the long hauls. My question that I have to keep asking myself is "Do I want the SG now or get the Bob and get the SG later?"

Once you get a touring bike you'll ask yourself why you didn't do it sooner.

I will be home in just over a week for some vacation and plan to pick out which one I want. If I get the Bob there will be a lot of work done to get it how I want. If I get the SG I will most likely change out the handlebars, pipes, and intake.

Get yourself the bike you want. You will always second guess yourself everytime you see a Street Glide. Ask me how I know...lol Test ride the new SGS and you will be impressed as I am and you can always buy a Dyna down the road. Oh and thanks for your service and post pics when you get the Glide! Stay safe and ride safe!

Why are thus buying the bike overseas? Did they pull Hd out? Regardless I have a vrod and an electra glide. Usually Cruz the EG but when I got to get somewhere fast and loud (California splitting lanes) it's the Vrod. So... Get two used bikes! Hahha

Won't be able to get 2 bikes at the time I make my purchase. There is some left to pay on the wife's bike. So I will get one for now. I am purchasing from a dealer I know that will match what the encs will give me on quote.

Yeah, I had to do that when I was up at NC. then the stop and go traffic trying to leave Lejeune sucked b/c I had nothing to listen to except my exhaust or the stereo system in the cars beside me.

Understand completely.
I traded my WideGlide for a SG.
After having the SG for a little over a year I bought a used 2000 Sportster. I totally stripped it and built it back the way I wanted.
Now I have the SG to ride back & forth from TX to MS and the Sportster to Haul **** around town.
So to honestly answer your ? I would say - Get the Street Glide and then get a smaller (Zip Around) bike when you feel the time is right.
