SD Card/USB adapter
there is a work around. you do not have to use itunes at all to load/manage your music on your ipod. you are still going to have to have an ipod, so can't get around that, but instead of itunes, you can use media monkey to upload/download music to your device.
I tried the Garmin/Road Tech Zumo 660 for a while, too. The Tip/Ring/Sleeve (TRS) connector for the aux input on the stereo was never designed for high-vibration environments, and went crackly and buzzy very quickly... severe enough to be un-listenable. Plus, when the GPS was loaded up with MP3s, it behaved in a very buggy fashion and took several minutes to respond to screen taps while it was indexing the music collection afresh every time it was started up. It made the GPS almost useless for music on short runs.
I considered a workaround by getting an XM radio module, but about that time, Sirius XM started reducing the data rate of their music stations, and audio quality went down. Quantization noise and compression artifacts make it not worth the subscription money. We really want our own MP3s, and lots of them.
Bottom line: HD is rightfully proud of their improvements in 2014. For those of us who are big music fans, the upgrade to a 2014 is worth it. If that's not enough to justify the price to anyone else, consider also the LED headlights (awesome), saddlebag and trunk latches (awesome), more rigid forks (awesome), and ABS/linked brakes ,(awesome). HD is rightfully proud of everything that went into these bikes, so I like to reward them for choosing the right direction.
While I really like the new 14's, I'm not digging that new infotainment center at all. Poor GPS with bad routing and too few waypoints, expensive map updates, buggy software, no aux input. Yeah, it has a USB port, but the pros aren't worth the cons to me. My Zumo is paid for, I can setup as many waypoints as I want, and I get a new map set every 3 months with Lifetime Maps.
This has gotten a little bit off point. I saw a slick piece of gear on a Goldwing and just wondered if there was an HD equivalent. Apparently not. It's all good though. I can put several thousand mp3's on my Zumo for long rides, and a hundred or so on a CD for town rides. I'm happy with what I've got.

One more salespitch for the 2014: the grip controls work great for selecting music. The voice recognition controls work even better. It's the first voice recognition system I've used that isn't merely-gimmicky-but-too-inaccurate-to-be-useful.
LOL, sorry Buddy, I didn't realize you had a 2012, ride safe!
on the 90 flhtcu stock radio you install aux caset tape plug the i-nano in and play hours of noise, The 08 flhtcu stock radio has a aux plug for mp3 or i-nano it give you hours of noise. I'm looking the none spill cup holder?
