My old bike had a custom prototype windshield. I really like it and want to keep it. The 2014 has a new pattern for the tabs and mounting screws. So my old one won't fit. Looking for places that do both cutting and etching to get my old one copied to a new 2014 windshield.
I want to keep the flames on the edge like they are. The etching of the skull can change to something else. I am not partial to the flags and they can go away.
The guy who did the prototype is out of business. I looked at a couple places around here, Milwaukee area, and one does lights too. Don't want that. The other does the edge trimming, but doesn't do etching.
That's crazy cool. I wish I could help you out. I can laser cut, but I think a custom like that would be astronomical in cost. At least for that first prototype. Pretty cool though. I do have the 2014 Ultra shields and I can etch anything you want. I know you don't get the flame shape, but it's something I guess.
How handy are you with saws and files? You have the template, which is all yours. All you need is a new 2014 windshield, drill and fasten your custom one to it and start work. It will take a long time and a lot of patience, but if it's winter where you are.......
After looking around there are a couple places in the Milwaukee area that do this kind of thing. One was quite expensive and was able to do a lot mre detail than I wanted for the etching but would not do the edge flame work. The other was very reasonable priced but could not do the etching. I went with him since I wanted the flames more than anything else. He is Orange Bomb Windshields. I found him on Facebook and I also had a card from him when I saw his stuff at one of the many biker events in the area.
I added a skull emblem to the front and I think it turned out quite well!
