I did the same thing. Works fine for me, but then again I use my iPod 90% of the time anyways

Got mine for $15 from the local car stereo shop. They use the same type in street rods etc. Just a cable to connect to the radio, a 12 volt lead, and a small plastic box that I mounted high in the fairing where the sirius radio antenna would go. Works just as good as the whip did.

I bought one of these too. I was shocked, as it doesn't look like much. It works as good if not better than my stock antenna. Living rurally in the mountains, I get lousy radio reception anyway, but this things pulls the stations in. I'm thrilled for under $20.00.
