Harley Rim Seal Kit on Older Spoked Wheels
So I stumbled across this confusing information on sealing sealed rims.
http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J05074.pdf
I still can't quite figure it out, but I'd hazard a guess it's to seal up the spoke holes of the new rims.
That immediately makes me want to know if I can use it on my older 2004 spoked rims to seal them up as well. Darned if I can positively find that answer. Do any of you folk know? I hope someone has done it and can say it worked.

Might simply be CYA from Harley, but they say specifically not to install a tubeless tire on a tubed rim. See:
See Figure 1. Tubeless laced (spoked) rims are identified by the word "TUBELESS" etched into the outside of the rim and are manufactured to the MTM profile. A typical identifier would be "TUBELESS 16M/CxMTM3.00 T DOT".
• DO NOT install a rim seal and tubeless tire on a laced rim that is not identified as such.

Sealing a spoke wheel is good while it works but our experience is that running a tube is the way to go as over time they usually start to leak. That has been my experience on my personal bikes as well. Should it start to leak you have to take the tire off and either reseal it or put a tube in anyway.
My advice if you don't want to run a tube is to get a billet wheel.
