I can't help with the question but I would love to hear your thoughts on the quality of the fairing, as well as some pics when you get it all setup.

I fiber-glassed an elevator bolt to the top of the inside fairing (above headlight area) then attached an L-bracket (made from aluminum flat stock ) from that to the back of the radio.

I also think some type of rigid foam, cut to fit under the radio and adhered with double sided tape or adhesive, would work just fine.

thanks for the reply's. sorry it toke so long to get back on here. I ended up going with a L bracket botled to the back of the cd player an glued a .125 thick peace of rubber to the part that rest on the fairing so far it is working. If i start having trouble will go with the elevator bolt thanks for the idea 11rkc. bikerlaw the fairing is great i went with the two 6x9 cut out on the fairing they are plenty loud with no amp. cd player has a built in amp and its plenty. i went with kenwood marine cd player and infinity 6x9 marine speakers. gave about 240 for both from cruntchfield. Hey 11rkc how hard is the fiberglass resin to work with i got the spacing off left to right on one of my speakers an thought about filling the wholes in an redrilling them

I just got one in the mail today, however, I think I am sending it back tomorrow. The quality is good, I just don't like the gelcoat,. Going to leave my windshield on for now.

Yea the gelcoat is not that great but I plan on painting mine flat black so not worried about the gel coat as bad. I went with a L bracket on th radio with a rubber pad on the bottom it works for now

I got mine finished, painted, and ready to go from Reckless.
Infinity Bluetooth enabled marine stereo.
Polk Audio 6 X 9 marine speakers.
Love it, but will be back to the windshield soon for warm weather.
Makes the 'King even sweeter...

TheGrandPoohBah,

I'm thinking of going the same route as you did for my RK Classic.
My I ask what the complete fairing cost you?

Thanks,
Mark

I bought speakers an radio separate the fairing was around 450 I think. Cd player is kenwood marine an it was 110 speakers at infinity an they are marine they also coast 110 got them at crunch field if you add paint in there you are better off buying the whole set up paint an all from reckless. I couldn't drop that kind of money I have a new baby so I'm kind of on a budget. I'll probably run the gelcoat all summer an paint this winter some time
