Progessive springs drop in. They cost about $100. If you can find some street glide or road king custom spring that will lower the bike a inch.

It all depends on what your after as far as mods. If you want to drop the rear on the cheap, take a look at LA Choppers lowering blocks, the drop the shock straight down and keeps the shock travel the same. The other cheaper versions angle the shock back to lower it.. By changing the angle of the shocks the ride will change.

My top "makes sense" mods have been the 10" Windsplitter shield, my road zeppelin seat pad, the thumb throttle lock that mounts to the star shaped bolt, and the little gizmo that line the tourpak lid so it closes easily every time.

I have done lots of stuff to my bike, but it's the little convenience things that make a big difference.

On the mods that really serve no purpose, I would have to say painting my inner fairing gave my bike the biggest pop.

Have fun making it your own, and Congratz on your new ride.

Just ride it as it is for a while and get in tune with it. Plenty of time to think about how to modify it as the two of you travel together. We can modify it as we would want it, but that may not be what you had in mind!
