im looking at replacing my grips with the kuryakyn iso with the throttle boss. for those who have tried them, are the ebay versions just the same or no? or has anyone used the avon grips with the throttle boss?

some of the guys with iso's had the inner mating gear teeth come loose or break- causing loss of throttle control. ( TBW bikes)

I'm not a fan of the ISO's, there are just ugly. I have heard good things about the Avon grips. I currently have the HD "Get-A-Grips and they are very comfy. I have cruise so don't need a throttle boss.

I've ha two sets if Kury Iso's with throttle boss an loved them. Both were on bikes with throttle cables, but they are very comfortable grips.

Ran ISOs on a metric cruiser and personally think thats where they look at home. Between the peeling chrome and easily stripped boss threads, quality seemed poor to me. I currently have Avons on a bobber and PMs on my Street Glide. Both seem to be considerably higher quality than the Kurys in my view.

I've been a fan of the ISOs for years and never had a problem with any of them; cable or TBW.

With that said, yesterday I was a little bored for lunch and wasn't that hungry so made a trek down to Avon which is here in Houston to scope it out. They are not a store front, really only sell through dealers but the lady that I met there walked me through the entire design, manufacturing, production, and shipping areas talking about each one and also mentioned they could take credit/debit/cash there. Then she took me in the back to the sorting facility where they package the products up. I got to put my hands on every single grip that I liked.. Now that's customer service! I narrowed it down to 2 and couldn't decide so I bought both. Might be worth a look instead of buying some cheap crap off fleabay..

I've had the iso and the avon grips. I like the avon better. Just my opinion. I did notice the avons seem to get tacky in the hot weather but I wear gloves so it doesn't bother me.

I've run the ISo grips. The chrome has some pitting after a few years but they are still comfortable. The throttle boss had crap chrome and peeled. I just live with it.

Not sure about the chrome ones, but both sets of black held up nicely.
