Default What synthetic oil can i add to RedLine

I am on the road and need to add a half quart of oil to my bike. Had it changed 1000 miles ago to Red Line 20-50 and forgot to pick up extra quart. It is down 1/2 quart (at the add line) and no one around here sells v-twin oil. What can I add that will play well with what's in it? Rotella synthetic for diesels or a 15-50 car synthetic?

Any oil should be fine.

Thank you steelerdude. Thought any synthetic would work, but always appreciate a second opinion.

When you can't find motorcycle specific oil you should run diesel truck oil as a substitute. Not car oil. I forget the reason why off the top of my head but it's right in your owners manual. All oils will mix.

Not sure if it is the only reason or the one you are looking for, but diesel oils tend to have more ZDDP (primarily zinc) in them. Not as much as a "v twin" oil, but a lot more than modern car oil.
