Default Installed new battery

Bike was slow cranking at times(though the starter was bad). Battery was just over 3 years old. Went to Battery Plus and purchased a new Battery and the bike crank and start like a charm now. Really made a difference. If your motorcycle turn over slow at times, could be a bad battery.
Note: Old battery had checked good in some instance.

Replaced my original OEM HD battery (2008 FLHR) with a new HD OEM one in 2013. Cranks over just fine.

Remember to properly torque your battery cable screws.

You may also want to check your charging system, just to make sure. If not getting a proper charge from the stator/regulator, even a new battery will become weak quickly.

Not unusual for a battery to test out "good" under no load.
But but a load on it (like hitting the start button) and the voltage goes way down, and will not crank over the engine.

Even though quite a few riders get more than 3 years out of a battery, the average life is around 3-5 years.

I replaced the battery in my ultra today, it cranked hard enough this morning that it didn't get spark. Second try got a start. I knew the battery was getting long in the tooth, but after putting in the new battery, it is remarkable how quickly the engine cranks and starts now.

The Harley battery is good, but way overpriced for what you get.

Including myself, a lot of owners are using the Big Crank battery (ETX30L) these days. Hard to beat for $99 and free shipping from a few vendors.

That Big Crank battery is identical to the X2 Power battery, model X2-30LA, sold at Batteries Plus. I have mine out at the moment because I needed to have it load tested. Thanks to the pics above I compared them. They are identical. After a bit of research I found that yup, the X2 line is made at East Penn. Getting the big crank online will cost less though.
