It may not be the sensor itself, there is an entire procedure in the electrical diagnostics manual to go through.

Before you pull the temp sensor make sure you inspect the spark plug wires and plugs. Sometimes one issue (like missing spark) will set off other codes for other possible issues that are somewhat related to the one first issue.

I've personally had similar codes (P1353) and it turned out it was simply the front spark plug wire where it attaches to the coil. Was rotted clear out. That post is on here somewhere. Here: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...zy-simple.html

Anyway, not saying it's not the temp sensor but I would check the wires/plugs first because it's easier.

I've personally had the same codes and it was the front spark plug wire where it attaches to the coil. Was rotten clear out.

Plug Wires and connectors look ok, might change them anyway. Pulled out the sensor plug, that looked good too. I cleared the codes for now, will dig in further when I get it home.

Wow, interesting read! I'll pull the wires and the plugs when I'm home. Any ideas what Harley soaks a guy for a temp sensor?

Rode it home, it pinged like crazy until I filled with 93 octane (rare up here in Mn), then it ran well the last 3 miles home. No codes. Plugs looked ok, they should be less than 3000 miles on them. Maybe it was bad gas?

Dang thing is still throwing the P0118 code up from time to time and stumbling, usually at lower Rpms. I've been through everything simple. Might have to spring for the sensor. Seems funny to me that HD uses a flimsy thermister in this day and age of sophisticated electronics.

Could be a pin hole in the fuel line in the tank that once exposed can cause this type of issue. If the tank is full and the line completely submerged there is no problem but once the pin hole is not submerged it can cause erratic running.
