I have a 2012 RK with Power Vision, 4" Jackpots, decatted head pipe and Fuel Moto stage one air cleaner. On my way in to work today, the engine stumbled a couple of times and when I stopped at a convenience store, it out right died. It started right back up and the last 2 miles to work were uneventful. THe bike has never given me any of this kind of trouble before, with about 13,000 miles on the clock. THere were no error codes thrown up. I'm guessing either bad gas or a bad electrical connection somewhere. I have a few accessories like GPS, MP3 player w/ amp/speakers, a plug for heated gear and rear turn signal conversion to brake and running lights and I'm running Kuryakin LEDs for the headlight and passing lamps. Any ideas?
P.S. I have had the recalled voltage regulator replaced.
As I stated above, no issues riding home last night. THis morning, started and ran normally until I got to work. Started to die when parking, twisted throttle to keep it going but it took several twists to get a throttle response. Weird sh@t! Shut it off and started back up with seemingly no problem. Guess I'll refuel and check those cables today.
The connector behind the air cleaner that goes to the throttle body... open it up, check it for water/corrosion, and re-seat.
Look up loss of throttle for TBW bikes and you'll get a lot of input on what could be the problem...
Could be a number of other things as well (like fuel pump housing or a faulty throttle by wire sender) but maybe it's just the connector on the throttle body which is an easy fix.
Ok, codes read:
P0118 et sensor high
P1353 front cylinder no combustion
I'm at work with no manual, can anyone enlighten me on what the "et sensor" is?
ET = Engine temperature sensor, which is located on the left side of the bike in-between the cylinders behind the horn. You will need a 9/16" wrench to remove the horn bracket.
