New Hand Shields

I just installed new hand shields on my RG. After looking around and only finding plastic shields that look like crap I clicked onto a forum advertiser's link - Great Bike Gear, and found some thing that looks cool and could almost pass for OEM. No more cold fingertips when winter finally gets here!

THx for this post...it got me interested in the product so I purchased a black set for my black 09 FLHP. They are very functional and are the best looking version that I have come across.

I have the National Cycle plastic ones no one likes. I had great hopes but was severely disappointed on the first cold ride. It seems the mirrors on the short stalks deflect the wind down onto one's knuckles perhaps even more so than without the hand shields. My hands were just as cold as before. I would take them off if it weren't for the bugs that get smashed on them. The summertime big ones would hurt on exposed knuckles or fingers. I hope these are better designed but the pictures make me suspect you will have the same results I did.

Don't laugh. I got a pair of these for my Dad last year for his 4 wheeler. They are called Hippo Hands, and they work great.

For home made, milk jugs and liter soda bottles work well as shields.

Awesome, been using them for a few years.
Why you ask?
Hands are way warmer on cold days, stay drier in rain.
Something the form over function crowd will never understand. Maybe if they were chrome ???
