Thoughts on a 2012 Tri Glide
I have an opportunity to purchase a low mileage 2012 Tri Glide Ultra Classic
I have been riding for over 30 years and owned several other Harleys.....and enjoyed them all!!!
I always admired the Servicecar models and see the Tri Glide as a cool platform that is really under appreciated..,.
Any thoughts on this bike....good or bad? Is it worthwhile to add this bike to my fleet???
I currently own a FatBoy, BadBoy, & VRod...and have owned all types if touring, cruiser, and sport bikes...

A few things to consider.
There was a pretty big change in 2014, so earlier model years not worth as much.
There was another pretty big change in 2017, reducing the value of the 14-16's and the pre-14's even more.
If I were buying one to ride, I would consider a 14-16 that was a really good deal, otherwise I would look at a 17 or later.
Another option, since you are still riding 2 wheels, you may like the sportier Freewheeler more than the Tri Glide.
Last thing to keep in mind. The trikes all have a serious heat problem in OEM condition. The majority that cross the 10k mile mark (if they have not had some heat reduction work done) have already passed, or are getting close to passing, acceptable top end wear. Any used Trike should have a leak-down test prior to purchase. This will let you know the extent of the damage from the heat.

I totally agree with DK Customs. Huge change starting with the 2014 models. I bought a new 13 anniversary model and though I do like it, I much prefer the newer features like REAR BRAKES, (the 13 and earlier rear brakes really suck) and better overall ride of the newer models. Check em out first before buying the 2012. Good luck.
