Default New Stator Plug Design

I have a 2009 Tri Glide and it started leaking oil out the hole in the case where the stator wires go through. I know this has been a problem with some of the Harley's and in 2011 they change the design of the Stator plug to a three 0 ring design. Would anybody have the Part # for the new 2011 stator and is there any good or bad experience with the new design. I have the EWSP and I hope the dealer puts in the new one if it is better. Thanks for your help. Bruce

The part number for the stator is 29987-06B. Stator plug leaks are a mixed bag, some get them and the majority do not.

Thanks msocko, I have 27,539 on my 09. It is the same color as your dads. It just started leaking a couple of days ago and I have a friend with a 08 Ultra and his started leaking a month ago and his was replaced before about a year
or so. I got the INFO on the new stator design from one of your post that showed all the changes on the 2011 ( from the 2010 dealer meeting ) that's when I saw the new stator plug. I just did not want the dealer to use a older design ( If they had a older one stocked ) if the 2011 is better. Thanks again for the part #, enjoy reading all your post. Bruce

Pretty much once they start leaking their going to need replaced. Some folks have tried injecting stuff from the outside and other have smeared silicone on them and the end result is they start leaking again.
