Default 2021 CVO Tri Glide seat securing bolt

Given that the CVO Tri-Glide has better electronics than some military airplanes one would think that this top of the line trike would have a quick-disconnect bolt in lieu of the screw-in bolt to hold the rear of the seat in position. Accessing the pre-load adjustment would be considerably easier if one didn’t dread having to align the screw and twist it in with meathook fingers in a confined space. ;-)

That might be handy until someone makes off with your seat because it just pops off......

Didn’t you get the extended twist on bolt with your CVO? Mine came with one and made it a lot easier to get the meat hooks in there to secure the seat.

I did get the extended bolt. Just wishing it was a quick disconnect. Less risk of cross threading when poking around in the dark.

All touring bikes with the tour pack have used that screw for ever. Hint…the screws that hold the rear seat strap are the same. So when the seat screw disappears you can use one-of those.

I gave up using a rear seat bolt three triglides ago. The tab for the seat sits in a deep recess so there is no way it is going to slide side to side and if I'm sitting on the seat it can't pop up while riding. Makes getting the seat off for shock adjustment very easy. I've ridden over 100,000 miles this way on three triglides with no problems and nobody has stolen my seat
