Short hauls like the op states as his intention, this towing method is likely the cheapest and is fairly safe, I would never pull my TG behind my motor home even with the camera running, to me, this would be the time to invest in an enclosed trailer. I doubt seriously that anyone could show us a case of the transmission popping into gear, but, the road grime and potential from hitting debri would discourage me from this method.
