Engine Idle Temperature Management Strategy
#11
Harley has had EITMS for several years, not much of a fix in my book. You can retrofit back to 07 but it is still just a bandaid and not the cure for the heat problem.
Best case situation is when you can get the engine running cool enough at idle on hot days that the EITMS does not kick in!
See the abc's of heat control by the Wizard and others comments on the subject!

A couple of weeks ago my friends new SE 110 Softail convertible was cutting in at every stoplight. His bike was SEPro tuned at Gainsville HD and has Rinehardt's with no cats. I flat told him they had better take another look at it because the map is still too lean. Didn't believe me until I told him the proof was in my tune. Question was "did mine cut out?" Answer was "no". Said there is your proof. My oil temp was never higher than 230, his was 265 that sends another message.

Yea! but they are worth digging for! The effort you put into helping members off line often goes unnoticed, I may short you a root beer but will give credit where it's due..thanks for all the work you do both on and off the forum!

I may be very "OLD" but my memory is longer than most things that I have. By the time of the rally next year comes around you are going to be so far in debt with the Diet Root Beers you owe me and other folks it will make your "FRUGAL" mind swim.
