Exhaust questions

True dual will give up a small amount of torque in the lower rpm range over the 2 into 1 2 exhaust. Sound will be slightly different depending on your muffler choice. The true dual lets you hear each cylinder fire at idle and can be louder in the higher rpms depending again on muffler choice.

I'm with everyone else, bottom end suffers some with duals. I tried them once on a 05 Electraglide I had, I felt the torque missing from the bottom not to mention they were way louder than I cared for. I actually had a neighbor shake his fist at me when I passed his house one afternoon.

I'd go with the two into one if it was me; you will like the power down low where you will need it and I don't think you will lose much if any going down the freeway. I did think it was funny when I went to Chester's HD in Reno last week about a Stage one kit for the trike. On my RKC they didn't even bring up true duels and when I did they told me it was a waste of money for 2-1-2 because of the performance loss and if I really wanted the duel look I should go the with fake exhaust on the other side, but on the trike it was the complete opposite they didn't even talk about 2-1 and just quoted me a 2-1-2 setup. Also included in the quote was them installing it, I guess us old people cannot work on our HD anymore.... The quote was for $2800 including dyno.

A 2 into 1 2 exhaust that is too free flowing will give the same effect as a true dual exhaust.
