Smile Need Advise

Hello Guys,
I am new here, waiting for my Trike to arrive this week . I am looking for advise on pipes, any suggestions, where I can get a good price and good quality/sound.
I don't want anything super loud, but something that rumbles...

Help me out please....

Thanks
Tara

First, welcome to the forum. This is a great place to learn about your new trike. Exhaust sound is quite subjective. What's loud to me might not be to someone else. I have a Rush exhaust. A little loud to me, but I've heard louder. Most mufflers have removable/interchangeable baffles which change the sound. Anyway finding a set that sounds pleasing to you is a pain sometimes. Good luck with your new trike.

Default pipes

I have kerker pipes on mine and they are louder than the stockers but you can ride it all day with no problem also when you get on it it has a nice mellow rumble not loud and obnoxious. Maybe it's an age related thing but I like the more mellow sounding pipes also.

I have the 4 inch HD mufflers that are 50 state street legal. They have a nice deep rumble to them. Not to loud but when you twist the throttle they will bark.

Leave it stock for some months until you know what you would really want.I put 4 or 5 thousand in mine and wish I had it back. The bike is worth the same as stock or less.
hope this helps.

Congrats on the new ride, and Welcome to the Forum.

So many different sounding pipes, and what is loud to one person is quiet to another.

Ride it, listen to all different kinds of pipes on bikes. When you hear one you like, ask em what they are running pipe wise, and what else they might have done to the bike that is contributing to the sound you liked hearing.

As others have stated, leave it stock and ride to events, shops, or motorcycle hangouts. Listen to other bikes and when you hear the one you like ask the rider. We love talking about our bikes/trikes and what we have done to them...I'm sure the rider would happy to help you out.

+1 I agree the cheapest and simplest way to figure out what you like is to find out from someone else's trial and error. Ride it and listen for someone else who has the sound you want, they will be more than happy to tell you all about them when you mention how much you like the way it sounds.

...and remember, when you take the cat out of the head pipe your mufflers will sound louder.
