RE: alarm system
Easy -
What do you think is up with mine? I have the fob. If I click it twice, the lights flash and the key indicator goes out on the speedo just like the V-rod. If I don't push the button twice, the bike still starts. In other words, my keyfob is great for flashing lights. It's on the Sporty so I don't care as much, cuz it's"half a Harley" nobody would steal it anyway, right? [sm=boink3.gif]

RE: alarm system
You are disarming the alarm when you push it twice. When you have it armed (button pushed and held til it signals that the alarm is set) you are then still able to start the bike? If this is the case it sounds like quite possibly the alarm was installed after the bike left the factory and doesn't have the ignition and EFI interlocks (if it's injected) or it's not hooked up right. I think you might be right in Post #6.
And I'll tell you what, your Sporty still says Harley-Davidson on the side (or at least on the V.I.N. plate) so that makes it a FULL Harley. I'd ride a 1200 any day of the week, along with any of the other Harley-Davidsons------except the 883.
